Concurrent Care Announcements

In November 2010, the state of Massachusetts, through the Executive Office of Health and Human Services, published a bulletin to notify MassHealth providers that effective immediately, MassHealth members under the age of 21 who elect for hospice services will still be covered for curative treatment and all medically necessary services for which they are available. This bulletin also indicates that MassHealth participating hospice providers must still provide services under the hospice benefit as it relates to the member’s illness. The bulletin may be found at the mass.gov site and is listed as All Provider Bulletin 206 and at 2010_Massachusetts.
