College of Nursing

Nursing students are introduced to research from discovery to translation. In addition, the Pediatric End-of-Life Care Group provides opportunities for both undergraduate and graduate students to participate in nursing research as research assistants or postdoctoral research fellows.

The College of Nursing at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, supports faculty research with emphasis on an integrated model of scholarship.  Research conducted through the Pediatric End-of-Life Care Group focuses on caregiving and improving child and family health Impact Area of Research.

Nursing Science Research

Focus Areas

Research conducted by the Pediatric End-of-Life Care Group at the College of Nursing stem from the Focus Areas. The interrelated circles in the model guide the College of Nursing scholarship. The five impact areas—Improving Child and Family Health, Promoting Global Health, Advancing Care of Aging Populations, Improving Psychiatric and Mental Health, and Creating Innovative Solutions—reflect the scholarship of faculty.
