Concurrent Care Announcements

In December 2010, the state of Maine passed a rule permitting terminally ill Maine Care members under the age of 21 to receive hospice services without requiring them to forgo other treatments covered by Mainecare, in accordance with Section 2302 of the Affordable Care Act, which would be effective in 2011. Documentation is difficult to find when accessed through a state-specific website and is more easily accessed at Medicaid.gov under Medicaid State Plan Amendments when filtered by states for “Maine” and using the search word “Hospice.”
