Concurrent Care Announcements

In August of 2013, Richard C. Allen, the Associate Regional Administrator for the Division for Medicaid and Children’s Health Operations wrote a letter to North Dakota’s Medicaid Director, Julie Schwab, indicating that the proposed State Plan Amendment (SPA) submitted under Transmittal Number 13-011 had been approved in July of 2013. This SPA would allow for concurrent hospice care in children. This letter may be found at this link and at 2013_NorthDakota.

In March 2023, North Dakota sought comments from the public on the five-year renewal to the Medicaid Children’s Hospice waiver. Once approved, the new waiver became effective in July 2023.
