Concurrent Care Announcements

In April 2014, the Florida Agency for Healthcare Administration issued a Statewide Medicaid Managed Care (SMMC) Policy Transmittal with the purpose of notifying Managed Care Plans of the federal requirements on the provision of hospice and curative care. The transmittal outlined the specifications of Section 2302 of the Affordable Care Act (ACA), which allows terminally ill children under 21 to continue to receive Medicaid services. The transmittal letter stated that the state of Florida amended its Medicaid plan on January 1, 2012. The transmittal can be found at this link and is listed as Policy Transmittal 14-04: Hospice Concurrent Care Policy and at 2012_Florida .
