Indiana Concurrent Care

In February 2012, the Indiana Health Coverage Programs (IHCP) created a bulletin titled, “Concurrent hospice and curative services for children.” This explained Section 2302 of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) and stated that effective immediately the IHCP would cover hospice care for children, 20 years of age and under, concurrently with all medically necessary curative treatment for the terminal illness. The bulletin went on to explain that this provision does not change any other coverage requirements, where the election statement section of the Medicaid Hospice election form can be found, and stated that requirements for the coordinated plan of care.
