Concurrent Care Announcements

Effective July 1, 2023, the state of North Dakota approved a five-year renewal to the Medicaid Children’s Hospice waiver (0834.R03.00) which “Provides case management, respite, hospice, skilled nursing, bereavement counseling, equipment and supplies, expressive therapy, and palliative services to individuals who are medically fragile ages 0-21 years who meet a nursing facility level of care.”

Effective July 1, 2013, the North Dakota Department of Human Services Medical Services Division issued a State Plan Amendment (SPA) (Transmittal No. 13-011), including the CMS letter and transmittal attachment. This SPA allowed for concurrent hospice care in children.
