Concurrent Care Announcements
In November 2010, the State of Oklahoma made an announcement through the Oklahoma Health Care Authority (OHCA) to advise hospice providers with the federal policy changes which requires states to make hospice services available to those who qualify for Medicaid or Medicaid-expansion Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) without forgoing treatment for their terminal illness. The announcement also details contingencies including that all SoonerCare members, the Oklahoma Medicaid members, must be reevaluated for continued hospice care at the end of the initial 180-day period. The announcement is part of the Oklahoma Health Care Authority site, listed under provider letters and can be found as letter 2010-58 at the following site link and at 2010_Oklahoma.
In 2021, the Oklahoma Health Care Authority, issued a Alternative Benefit Plan Benefit Update draft regarding concurrent care.
