Concurrent Care Announcements

In July 2010, the State of Illinois General Assembly passed an Act titled the Pediatric Palliative Care Act, which outlined the scope of pediatric life-limiting illness, difficulties in providing pediatric palliative services, and financial implications of providing pediatric palliative programming. Section 15 of the bill outlines a Pediatric Palliative Care pilot program, which would allow a qualifying child under the age of 18 to receive community-based pediatric palliative care while continuing curative treatments for their potentially life-limiting illness. This act became effective upon becoming law, and can be accessed at the Illinois General Assembly site at this link and is listed as SB2931 and at 2010_Illinois.
