In October 2016, the State of Montana updated their Medicaid Hospice Policy Manual to include Hospice Policy #715, which addresses curative care for children receiving hospice services. Specifically, this policy states that Medicaid eligible children, under the age of 21 years, will not be prohibited from receiving curative treatment upon the election of hospice care.
