Minnesota Concurrent Care

In September of 2016, the state of Minnesota Department of Human Services updated their Provider Manual for Hospice Services. There a subsection addressing people age 21 and under who have elected hospice. This indicates that the elected hospice provider must explain the benefits the member will receive, explain that the member and 21 and under does not waive coverage for curative care for the diagnosed terminal illness, inform the member that hospice care is optional and revocable, give the member a copy of the signed hospice transaction form and retain said form. This stipulation means that in 2016, the state of Minnesota was in accordance with section 2302 of the Affordable Care Act. This subsection can be found at this link.
