Concurrent Care Announcements

2019 Nevada Medicaid Hospice Program Election Notice – Pediatric

In February 2017, the State of Nevada updated their Medicaid services manual to include a section that indicated recipients under the age of 21 would be entitled to concurrent care under the Affordable Care Act. However, the state plan did clarify that concurrent care would not be available upon turning 21 years of age and that individuals turning 21 must sign a Nevada Medicaid Hospice Program Election Notice – Adult (FA-93) to continue certification. Additionally, the state plan emphasized the importance of pediatric hospice care in providing comprehensive, competent and compassionate care in the context of an interdisciplinary team.
