New Jersey Concurrent Care

In April of 2011, The State of New Jersey Department of Human Services Divisions of Medical Assistance and Health Services published a newsletter addressing hospice care for children in Medicaid. The purpose of the newsletter was to inform hospice associations that section 2302 of the Affordable Care Act removed the prohibition of receiving medically necessary curative treatment when the hospice benefit is elected by or on behalf of a Medicaid eligible child. The new method of reimbursement would then apply to electronic HIPAA and paper claims. The newsletter also includes form FD-378, which should be filled out by individuals electing for hospice and their respective provider(s). This newsletter may be found accessed at this link when searching the newsletters and alerts by “Choose volume and number” and inputting vol. 21, no. 6.
