Concurrent Care Announcements
In May 2013, West Virginia’s Governor Earl Ray Tomblin said that he will expand Medicaid under President Obama’s health care law, the Affordable Care Act. This would include section 2302, the provision of Concurrent Care for Children. However, in looking for specific provisions stating that individuals under 21 could receive hospice care and curative treatment through Medicaid concurrently we were unable to find any specific, time-stamped legislature or provider announcements. Versions of the West Virginia 509 Hospice Services manual after 2015 include section 509.1.5, which includes exceptions for hospice service, but again the manual does not state when this provision was first introduced. Services manual may be found at the following link here and at 2015_WestVirginia.
