Alabama Concurrent Care

Last updated: May 2024

Concurrent Care Announcements

In July 2010, the state of Alabama revised its state Medicaid plan to allow children under the age of 21 with a terminal diagnosis to elect to receive hospice care without waiving their rights to continue medical treatment. The State Plan Amendment (SPA) for Concurrent Care for Children was posted on the Alabama Medicaid website. This announcement is not displayed chronologically as part of the news and events tab, which makes it difficult to find. Additionally, the announcement cannot be found using a search tool provided on the Alabama Medicaid website, which may lead some to believe that the state of Alabama has not addressed concurrent care. The announcement was found on this link to the Alabama Medicaid website and can be accessed at 2010 Alabama.
